The balance between sophisticated interiors and ecological responsibility is given priority at Ascorium. It’s far more than a response to the increase in environmental awareness, we see it as our responsibility to do everything possible to develop sustainable materials and contribute to ecology-minded production in any way we can.

From efficient production to cutting-edge components, we have a four-pronged sustainability thrust:

  1. product solutions

  2. process solutions

  3. smart solutions

  4. chemical development.

Less weight = less energy

The newest developments of Colo-Fast® provide a weight reduction of 25% compared to thermoplastic slush skin and ColoSense X-Lite® offers weight reduction of more than 35%.

Less energy for more quality

Our production temperature remains constant between 60°C and 80°C. Other technologies require high and therefore energy-consuming processing temperatures up to 250°C, e.g. when using thermoplasts.

Smart factory & smart work

Thanks to our plant-in-plant concept, transport costs are optimized – sounds banal but is really smart when one calculates the savings, let alone the environmental benefit.

In addition we apply advanced robotics, augmented reality, tool simulation as well as big data & analytics.

New possibilities with renewable resources

Certain plants deliver the so-called bio-polyols after extraction and modification. The use of such renewable raw materials makes PU less dependent on oil-based, synthetic polyols. Products and processes based on low volatile organic compounds (VOC) are being developed. Currently we are at around 25% renewable raw materials and are targeting 40% to 100%… good for the environment without compromising comfort and durability.

Plant-in-plant concept

for a lower carbon footprint

ASCORIUM Industries is known as an A-surface specialist and regards itself as a competent global partner for OEMs and Tier-1s in the development and implementation of innovative products for vehicle interiors.

In addition to our services of trend analysis, product development and design, CAD construction, grain and color development, surface validation, rapid prototyping, test setup, tool and model release before and during production, we continue to offer our services after production as well.

As a dynamic partner for our customers, we can integrate ourselves into the production of the customer’s component line and produce “plant-in-plant”. This generates synergy effects, especially in the development of new and innovative product solutions.
