2024
We aim to use only and exclusively green electricity at all Ascorium production sites by 2024.
In order to achieve this overall goal, Ascorium focuses primarily on the following three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs:
INDUSTRY, INNOVATION, AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Specifically this means that all our new product developments are based on increased recycled and bio content, and are targeting applications where lower weight and lower carbon footprint is key. (SDG 9)
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
In concrete terms: We develop technology focusing on less material usage, e. g. Direct Back Moulding (DBM), weight reduction such as in CompoLite, and more sustainable logistics through plant-in-plant production. (SDG 12)
CLIMATE ACTION
For us, that means: We will use 100 % carbon neutral electricity by the end of 2024. (SDG 13)
Translating these three basic goals into four individual steps and incorporating the standards of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, the following timeline emerges:
We aim to use only and exclusively green electricity at all Ascorium production sites by 2024.
By 2025*, we plan to reduce the Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions (operations) by 80 %.
*compared to 2021.
By 2030*, we will reduce the Scope 3 GHG emissions (upstream) by 50 %.
*compared to 2021.
We aim to meet net-zero global GHG emissions by 2050.
